Bei Kontakt mit dem Filament nutzt es die subtile Kraft zwischen den Molekülen – die Van-der-Waals-Kräfte – voll aus, um unzählige stabile mikroskopische Verbindungen aufzubauen. Dadurch werden die gedruckten Teile fest geformt und haften wie ein Gecko fest daran.
